The McCauley Family (Nar Nar Goon)

Jeff and Hailie McCauley installed four Lely A5 Astronaut robots on their Nar Nar Goon dairy farm in late 2023. Within two months of seeing the results, they installed two more. Now they're milking nearly double the amount of cows with the same amount of staff.

The Wallace Family (Poowong North)

Luke and Mel Wallace run picturesque Wallacedale Jerseys in Poowong North. They're sticklers for cow comfort and milk quality as suppliers to Gippsland Jersey and respected Jersey breeders. In 2022, they upgraded from a herringbone dairy to two Lely robots to milk 160 cows. Last year, they added a third robot.

The Williams Family (Athlone)

Grant and Leesa Williams installed their first Lely milking robots back in 2009, but continued to run a second rotary dairy on their farm. This year the family fired up six more robots and switched off their rotary to become a fully robotic operation, with ten Lely robots milking over 600 cows.

 The Joyce Family (Strzelecki)

Peter and Larissa Joyce were considering going into beef in a few years, after years of hard work and football had started to take its physical toll on Peter. Instead, they converted their herringbone shed into a robotic operation with two Lely robots and now say they'll probably still be milking in another 10 years.

The Lockett Family (Neerim North)

Gordie and Marg Lockett converted their herringbone shed into a robotic dairy by placing a Lely robot on either side of the old pit. They kept the same paddocks and laneways for a simple and affordable setup, and are still seeing a 10% increase in milk yields.

The Vening Family (Hedley)

The Vening family kicked off their automation journey with eight Lely Astronaut A5 robots in 2023, followed by the first Lely Discovery C2 manure collector in Australia. The family says the robots enable flexibility in their day to focus on tasks like infrastructure maintenance, cropping, pasture management and animal care.

The Giliam Family (Nilma North)

John and Cobie Giliam run Mailig Farms in Neerim North, where they have a 320-cow freestall barn on a pasture grazing system. Before installing the Lely Juno automatic feed pusher 3 years ago, they were pushing feed with a tractor up to 6 times a day.
