Meet Emma!
|
Raised in Yarram, Emma’s love for agriculture started early - and initially outside of dairy.
“I grew up on a sheep and beef farm after Mum and Dad finished share farming when I was a toddler,” she explains. “Every farm kid starts out as the gate opener, then you graduate to being Dad’s interpreter while doing yard work.” As a teen and into early adulthood, Emma milked cows while balancing a school based traineeship with a local herd service company. She completed her Certificate III in Agriculture (Dairy Production) in Year 12 while also gaining her AI ticket. After finishing school, she moved into administration at a fertiliser company before following her heart and stepping into a role alongside her dad as a livestock agent and territory manager, where she learned a lot. |
“But my passion for dairy really began about 16 years ago, when I met my husband on his family’s dairy farm,” Emma says. “Throughout all of these roles, I loved coming home every night with odd jobs flung at me by my husband with the kids in tow on the farm. Farming has always been a huge part of my life, and I wouldn't change it for anything”.
