The Kennedys' automated barn suits the unique challenges of dairying in East Gippsland. It maximises the use of fodder crops grown, while total mixed rations maximise cow production and health. Many efficiencies make it resourceful; collecting manure with less water means it is concentrated, electricity comes from solar powered batteries, and little labour is needed due to the efficient Astronaut robot.
